Who is the Presenter-Gamer?

Presenter-Gamers are the masters of technology for entertainment. These action-oriented types fall in one of two camps: Presenters, people with a secondary Communicator style, and Gamers, those with a secondary Analyzer style. Most people immediately recognize the Presenter, especially the more outgoing Team Players. Presenters jump into the here and now and MOVE. They are great motivators and spokespeople. Gamers bring excitement and fun to the computing world. Multimedia and high action, movies, noise and chaos, all of the elements it takes to develop games, market products come naturally to this group.

In the Tech Classroom

Presenter-Gamers use technology to entertain and be entertained. They are hands-on learners who prefer active versus abstract activities. Because of their constant motion are often considered hyperactive. However, given time to expend some energy they can focus on the task at hand. These students have the hardest time in school as smaller children when they are paired with rigid teachers. The more outgoing presenter gamers radiate infectious energy and enthusiasm. They can be fun and find new ways to apply what they’ve learned in the technology classroom and will offer others better ways to present material. However, those same students may goof off in the back of the room if they find the lesson boring.

Working With Others

What they bring to the group: Presenter-Gamer’s enthusiasm and courage bring excitement to the tech team. They have a natural knack for taking things apart, seeing how they work and putting them back together - even if they need a little duct tape. These folks innovate and take technology to the next level by demonstrating the weakness of a product. Whether they are a Gamer or Presenter, their spirit is a necessary force. Presenter-Gamers use their powers to make projects feel like a game because more than any type, they know that if you enjoy what you do, you never work a day in your life.

Potential Pitfalls: As the resident cool guy or girl in the group, it’s important for Presenter-Gamers to remember that although FUN is great, there is still work than needs to be done. People can mistake the more outgoing Presenter-Gamer’s sense of urgency to ACT, as impulsiveness. They must take care to follow through on commitments.
